In Loving Memory of Rob Kingma

1961-2020

Welcome to our Forever in our Hearts tribute page. This page is a place for family and friends to share their memories of Rob Kingma, as well as to raise donations to support the Heart Foundation.

Rob passed away on Friday September 18 2020, leaving a gaping hole in many people's lives. Rob was an incredibly supportive, loving and  thoughtful person.  He was the kind of guy who understood the difference between someone who speaks to you in their free time and someone who frees their time to speak to you. And it didn't matter if that person was a high-ranking Executive or the daily office cleaner.

Rob was a man of resolute moral standing, immense integrity, and a person who loved his family, business and his people. The King of a terrible dad-joke. Lover of motorcycles, his mates and a JD & coke. Absolutely petrified of emu's.

In his words, "I love that we don't sweat the small stuff, so that we can focus on the real stuff, building long lasting relationships".

Rob donated $50,000.00 from the business to the Special Children's Christmas Party this year simply because the company had a good year, he wanted to give back, and in his words "Hey, it's for the kids, I can't wait to see them smile!". Classic Rob.

He leaves behind his loving wife Caroline and daughters Hayley and Nicole as well as two grandchildren; Lola and Levi.

We have all gained so much from having Rob in our lives and he will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Rest in Peace Rob.

You will always be loved.

And never forgotten.

Rob is an inspiration to me. He was a leader that led with honesty and dedication. He mentored and inspired others but still remained so humble. His words and action were wrapped in compassion and empathy and most importantly he always influenced others to become a better version of themselves. Like many others, I am heart broken losing such a friend. Everything I am today and what I have achieved is owed to the person Rob was to me and still forever will be. While I may have never said it to him, he was my role model and I've been trying to follow in his footsteps by leading, mentoring and supporting people around me as he did for others. And I will continue to do so in n everlasting tribute in his memory and friendship.

The first time I went out with Rob and Coles he had me straight on the double jack and cokes and the rest is history. He made me laugh so much that evening after beating me at a drinking game I taught him he even made it come out of my nose xxx

Last week we lost one of the best; suddenly and unexpectedly. Rob, you have been my boss, my mentor and like family to me for 10 years. I will cherish the friendship we had, the good times we shared, the business we worked on together and of course the genuine and fantastic guy that is Rob Kingma. You were a man of resolute moral standing, immense integrity and a person who loved his business and his people. You took our company from a start-up to become one of the most respected and fastest growing IT companies in Australia; a CRN Fast50 company 5 years running. Last month you donated $50K to December’s ‘Special Children’s Christmas Party’; just because we had a good year and in your words “Hey, it’s for the kids. I can’t wait to see them smile”. I’m beyond blessed to have had you take me under your wing all these years ago. We have all gained so much from having you lead and mentor us all these years and as we step into this new era we are proud to be doing so in your honour. The world has lost one of its best far too soon. RIP boss. Beyond blessed to have known you.

Happy memories of Robs visits to the Northern Rivers when he would pop up to see Shelly his sister. We shared some happy times, lots of laughs, and a few too many drinkies ...and funny memories of Robbie departing with his motorbike loaded with avocados (‘stolen’ from the farm next door ..😋) A special lovely man. Our heartfelt condolences to Robbie’s family ❤️ Love Jane & James (The Beans) xxx

You're right that Rob didn't just see people in his free time, but would free time to talk to you. He did that for me anyway. I"m so grateful that I had dinner with him last year - we went to Sake on Argyle Street and solved all the world's problems one evening over some excellent food and drink. I'm just another one of the many people who loved Rob and who will miss him dearly. Definitely gone far too soon.

I can remember having a sleep over with you Nic and your dads after an IDW party, we came home at potato gems and the next morning I had to get up at ridiculous o-clock because my sister was in labour and your dad was up, being very calm while I was hungover, tired, excited, couldn’t think but he slowed me down and helped give directions on how to get out of the area! ❤️
