Mr Good will be dearly missed by Ronnie and Vernon. Those fond memories will forever be the treasure of the boys.

Stephen began his journey at Upper Mount Gravatt State School in 1999 and quickly became a deeply valued and unforgettable member of our community. He will be remembered as a humble, kind, and dependable person who genuinely cared for others. His impact reached far beyond the oval, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the students he inspired, the colleagues he supported, and the friendships he built over more than two decades at Upper Mount Gravatt State School. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always held close as a treasured member of the UMG family.

Our beloved son A hundred years from now it will not matter what your bank account was, the sort of house you lived in or the kind of car you drove. But the world may be different because you were important in the life of a child. Stephen you were loved very much by so many students you taught. So very proud of you. Fond memories of 'the little scaliwag' wombling around Chester, before the family emigrated to NZ and then Oz. Such a successful life cut short so tragically.

Simply the best! A dedicated colleague and genuinely kind, positive man who brought much happiness to so many. You have left an enormous footprint in our community and are deeply missed. 💙🤍💙

Always in my heart

We remember you fondly, as a kind hearted teacher and clearly much loved work mate. You could always make the kids laugh, and encouraged them to try something new. ( I still remember the ongoing “whipped butter” container that you would keep putting in Emma’s tray only for her to put it back on your desk). You truly knew how to make positive connections to your students.

A man who would light up the room as soon as he walked in. You always had the special talent to make people laugh and smile even on the hard days. Thank you for being you. You’ll never walk alone ❤️❤️

You were a huge part of the Bierton’s life…to our 3 boys you were more than a PE teacher you were a mentor supporter confidante and friend! And to us you were an awesome guy that went out of his way quite often to help us with the boys and their sporting events! I’m so glad we met you (even though turns out Glen and you had a soccer past)…and Kasey Mike and Kira! We all have fantastic memories of times together both in and out of UMG! Stephen, you were one of the good ones. You have always been genuinely kind and professional, going above and beyond for the students in your role as the PE teacher, but also in the Active School Travel program. My kids remember you as a teacher who made PE and swimming fun, being able to motivate and encourage even my non-sporty kid.

Thank you so much for being such a fantastic man. My kids had the best time at school thanks to you, your personality and the respect you showed every child was incredible. You were like a little brother to me and the hole you hate left in our hearts cannot be repaired but we will fill it with the happy memories you gave us all. Miss you so much.

Steve, words are not enough to explain the impact you’ve had at UMG! As your colleague and friend I will miss seeing your smiling face around school as well as the many chats we've had about our own children. To a man who showed my children that their worth was not always tied to how good they were at something. You always had a good joke and my children left PE feeling accomplished, even when PE wasn't a strong subject for them. You are very missed.

As a former student of UMGSS 2025 I pay my respects to Mr Good for being the best out there, I remember when we used to play dodgeball, or water polo it was truly amazing being around you. You were here for me from prep to now thank you for being the man you are RIP.

Dear Mr Good. You were one of the first people in my primary school years who made me truly feel accepted mate. I'll never forget the name of our year 6 class, 6GM (6 Good / Murphy). Mr Good, thank you for everything. Fly high mate. Best P.E. Teacher ever!

I will remember you fondly for being one of the first teachers to have welcomed me in UMGSS in 2011. As someone who moved to a new country and everything around me was fresh, you encouraged me to reach for my potential. You always made the effort to include me in all activities (even giving me a nickname that I still carry to this day). A part of who I am today is a credit to your teaching!
